JOB EXPLORATION COUNSELING
Job exploration assessments are evidence based and designed to help the individual narrow down the choices based on interest, ability and opportunity. Then the student will have an opportunity to interact with workers in the community through job shadowing and mentoring.
WORKPLACE READINESS TRAINING
Workplace readiness will include training to develop social and independent living skills, such as communication and interpersonal skills, financial literacy, traveling skills, job seeking skills, understanding employer expectations for punctuality and performance, as well as other “soft” skills necessary for employment.
COUNSELING ON TRANSITION TO POST SECONDARY EDUCATION/TRAINING
Counseling on transition to post secondary training will include information on course offerings, career options, the types of academic and occupational training needed to succeed in the workplace, and postsecondary opportunities associated with career fields or pathways and resources that may be used to support individual student success in education and training, which could include disability support services.
